Lollapalooza made its first lineup announcements today at a Chicago press conference, and among the artists who will perform at the two-day festival are Pixies, Weezer, Dinosaur Jr., the Killers, Death Cab for Cutie, Liz Phair, the Arcade Fire, and Billy Idol.
As previously reported, the event-- formerly the U.S.'s premier touring festival-- is now a one-weekend affair to be held in Chicago's Grant Park on July 23-24. Among the other artists confirmed are Dashboard Confessional, the Walkmen, Cake, Widespread Panic, Kasabian, Kaiser Chiefs, M83, the Black Keys, Dandy Warhols, Brian Jonestown Massacre, the Bravery, Blonde Redhead, Digable Planets, VHS or Beta, Tegan & Sera, Louis XIV, Ambulance LTD, and the Changes.
A two-day pass to the event currently costs $85, plus shipping and service charges. Ticket prices will eventually increase to $100 and then to $115.
