I get stoned, I ask questions
The other night, Liz and I made Boca burgers and guacamole, then Kelly came over and we got stoned with Bobby and date and watched TV and assembled ikea furniture in her new cape cod style living room. Watching TV and being stoned is a fun combo, but it provokes many important questions, that frankly, I will not remember the next day, so I have taken to writing them down and researching them the next day. There are also some comments and brilliant business ideas involved in this process.
Monday's questions:
Q1: Keane. How old are you?
A1: The lead singer Tom is 25. The other guys are 28 and 29.
Comment: Write fan mail to Ewan McGregor and tell him to kick that guy in Keane's ass.
Q2: What's up with that guy in Charlie's Angels with the haircut?
A2: That guy is Crispin Glover, but no information has yet to be revealed on the nature of his character in the film.
Q3: Is that Robbie Williams?
A3: No, that is not Robbie Williams, it is Justin Theroux, from Mulholland Drive.
Tuesday's Questions (Last nite, we listened to the 70's music station on digital cable)
Q1: Did someone save Elton's life?
A1: Yes. The song "Someone Saved My Life Tonight" is about an episode in Elton's life. In the late sixties, he almost got married to a woman who didn't even like his music and what he was doing. He wanted to get out of that situation, but was too confused, and also didn't want to face her. So one night he got drunk, then left his friends at the bar and went home. When Bernie Taupin got back, he found Elton lying on the kitchen floor, his head on a pillow for comfort, the oven open letting gas fill the room. But there was also a window open. So Bernie started to laugh. This suicide attempt was in fact a cry for help.
Q2: Is there a KFC on the Great Wall of China?
A2: Yes. The first section of the Great Wall opened to tourists, the portion at Ba Da Ling remains the most popular. In 1957 it was fully restored to its original Ming appearance -- although the reconstruction was sloppier than subsequent efforts at Mutianyu and particularly Jin Shan Ling and Simatai, where efforts were taken to preserve a sense of antiquity. A cable car was added at Ba Da Ling in the 1980s, followed later by a museum, a Circle Vision Theater, several restaurants, a large number of souvenir stands, and a KFC. Criticized by Wall "purists" for this profusion of facilities and an unimaginative restoration, it is still one of the most dramatic sections of the Great Wall. Set in a steep, forested mountain range, Ba Da Ling offers tremendous views and, for those willing to travel beyond the restored sections, worthwhile hiking.
Side Projects
1. We can write songs like this. We can bring the 70's back. We can write cheesey shit like this and sell it and P-Man will sing it.
2. Slide show photo music montage to 70's music using Kelly's laptop, Pri's LCD projector and Liz's wall.
2 Comments:
I love these type of pointless trivia questions and their answers. What a great idea for a book. You could call it "Questions and Answers for Stoners." It could make for some great bathroom reading.
by the way, this is Trevor
Ummm, the story about Elton and Bernie isnt true...totally!
It was the woman who dumped Elton! He WANTED to marry her...
