Just got an e-mail from Ben "The Best Date in Town" Vivari with details on the Cause show on Wednesday night:
I know what you're all thinking. what the hell is The Cause doing? what makes
them think they should keep going? why don't they just throw in the towel?
well who cares what you think? not us, that's who! and to prove it,
we're playing at DC9 this Wednesday, September 1st. For the low low (low!) price
of $5, you can come heckle, jeer, and throw vegetables at us (aim for the
drummer). Also playing on Wednesday are the Fake Accents. rumor has it that
they're good guys (and one girl) at rock n' roll. The rumors are true!

I'm only going if "Sweaty McAwesome and the SouperAvs" perform.
I think that was a one-time-only thing. I do think the Cause needs to cover Iggy Pop's Search and Destroy. Listen to the song and then think about Ben singing it.
I'm starting a band, but it won't be the SouperAvs. We're (well just me for now, but feel free to inquire about joining) called Souper Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go! The extra "U" is because soup is yummy. I haven't figured out what sort of lineup we'll have yet. Most likely we'll be a cross of hip-hop, dance pop, guitar rock, and hopefully a horn section so we can rock a little ska to a reagge beat.
I don't know if Americans will be ready for the sounds, but I'm sure we'll be huge in Japan, and maybe Europe.
I like the sound of that. Can I tour with you in Japan?

ps where did all the hostility come from on that 'ben is the best date in town' post? did you see those comments?
do you know what time the cause go on? and what the other band is like?
There is actually another band listed on the DC9 website called Daddy. First band is at 9:30. I am going to try to get there at 10:00 to see the Fake Accents, they are friends with Ben and have a website with a soundbyte. www.thefakeaccents.com
I don't know the exact set times, but I will email Ben and check.
