The Weekend has No End.

I just realized why the weekend seemed so long. Friday night was the first Friday in weeks that I did not emerge from Warnock's at 8:00 a.m. Saturday morning. I actually woke up at 11:00 am. on Saturday and spent the day with April, Sarah and Warnock shopping in Georgetown. That does not mean that I went to bed at a reasonable hour on Friday and that I was not exhausted all day Saturday.

Let's back up a little. Friday night we all attended the long awaited Liberation Dance Party. First was dinner at the Red Bean in Mt. Pleasant. We had promised Frank for months that we would come in and try his place. Kelly, Liz and I met Frank over the summer at Tonic. He talked about running for mayor and called us Frankie's Angels. Tyler has been chroncling his adventures in the restaurant biz for almost 20 weeks now and Friday we got it together and went over there. Let's make this a mini review of the Red Bean. The food was delicious, especially the guacamole. He doesn't have his liquor license yet, but claims that it's coming this week. I was too anxious to get over to DC9 to eat, so I took a lot of cigarette breaks and walked around the table a lot.

After dinner, it was back to the cave to change into hotfits. I was going to wear a babypink hotfit, but last minutes I decided on purple and sneakers. I wanted to be more comfortable. Kel and Ape both wore hotpink hotfits and looked fabulous. I don't know if pics exist from this nite. Av wore a hawaiian shirt. (Earlier in the week, he asked me what to wear, and I told him whatever he wanted and he asked me if he could wear a Hawaiian shirt and I said that I told him he could wear whatever he wanted. So he DID.) It was cute.

The turnout at Liberation wasn't what we expected and the nite started out in the back room or what we refer to as the Makeout Room and NM wants to soon rename the VIP Room. Got snuggly with Trueheart and Kel on the couch. Met up with NM, MG, the DCSOB, Michael and Jeff. I didn't know what it was going to take to start me dancing, but finally The End Has No End came on and I channeled Julian and hit the dance floor.

I danced my drunk butt off all night with Trueheart, the girls, some beads and the bloggers. I never realize how drunk I am when I am dancing, but apparently I was pretty wasted. Things I remember (edited version):

Telling Bobby that I loved his wallet (camo with hotpink trim) and he told me that he would give it to me later.

Heading back to Hobart, but I don't remember how we got there or who was in my cab.

Drinking some delishy vodka lemonade combo at Hobart.

The pantry with the mammal and Warnock.

Trying to have a conversation with Warnock and others on the porch and stumbling my words and my feet.

Running back inside Hobart to grab my purse and kidnapping the boy.

Saturday, Ape, Sarah, Warnock and I had a lovely brunch at Tonic. We felt ambitious being up so early on a Saturday, it was about 2:00 at this point that we decided to walk to Georgetown. We took a few breaks and made it as far as the park on 18th street when we decided to hop in a cab.

April returned some things she had bought the previous weekend and Warnock bought some jeans at Diesel from Bobby. We had some beers, we cabbed it back to Asylum for a quick beer. Then walked back to Tonic for some more beers. Cute bartender who looks and sounds like Colin Farrell and basically IS Colin Farrell was there. Finally, we made it back to the cave.

Ape wasn't feeling well and took a nap in my bed. I tried to watch a Law and Order repeat and fell asleep. At about 10:30, Sarah started screaming at me that I had to get up and shower, because I had promised to chaperone her date with Peter Parker (who we had all met on Halloween.) Finally, I got motivated, even though I was exhausted and got ready and met them there by 11:30. I tried to drink a Sparks, but can you believe it, it wasn't doing anything for me, probably because I usually drink like 8.

We soon left for some party, which turned out to be boring and I spotted some guy I met at the Raven earlier this year, and he had blown me off, so I didn't want to bump into him. I was being cranky and trying to rally the troops to rescue us, but they were either sleeping or out of the city. Finally, we told Peter Parker that we had to go home and sleep. But as soon as we walked out the front door, I suggested that we go to Toledo.

Toledo was too packed so we went over to Asylum. Warnock finally called, but he was in his PJs already. Sarah ordered a beer as I got sleepy. Warnock called back 20 minutes later to ask if they did last call yet. Five minutes later he was there. I fell in and out of consciousness and finally cabbed my tired butt home.

When I got home April was on the couch watching the Queen of the Dammed. Turns out when Sarah and Warnock walked out of Asylum, they ran into Peter Parker and he was surprised to see her and backed away from them. He thought that she had gone home hours before. I wasn't there for this street scene, but I can only imagine that it was hilarious. We thought that this would be a good thing, cuz Peter Parker wouldn't call Sarah anymore, but we were wrong, he already left her a voicemail. Boys call that girl like she's their dealer, it's hilarious.

Finally fell asleep around 4:30a.m. Ape left a message on the answering machine about hearing gunshots outside her window.

Sunday was spent at Asylum brunch a fun trip to my new favorite weekend CD store, Crooked Beat on 18th Street. I got the Prosaics EP. Went home, listened to it for a little, then it was back to Adams Morgan for the Bobby show at Bossa. We missed Bobby and there was a $7 cover so we headed over to the Reef for some drinks. Ivy tried to kidnap our waiter, this little boy with nice bone structure and long blond hair. Sarah and I ended the night at Tonic cuz we thought that Colin Farrell would be there. She loves him now. I gave her my seal of approval, but told her that she is not allowed to bring him to the cave, cuz if I ever saw him there I would scream like a giddy little girl.

I fell asleep on the couch watching a VH1 program on the Secret Life of Swingers. I finally made it to my bed by 1:30 and fell asleep still drunk on wine, which by the way is the best way to fall asleep.

Now if you have made it this far, you can see that, other than the fact that I am an alcoholic, why my weekend never ended.
