"If I was kiddin' you, I'd be wearin' a fez and no pants. " - Detective Briscoe

Jerry Orbach, beloved star of Law & Order as Detective Lennie Briscoe, passed away on Tuesday night.

Orbach was set to star in a new spinoff, Law & Order: Trial By Jury.

RIP Detective Briscoe, I will miss your cheesy cop jokes.

The Birth of Meg

Recently, people have been asking me why my nickname is Meg, since my real name is Sara. I rarely tell the story, basically because it's stupid. But I will now put it down on my blog for all to read.

It was Freshman year of college at the University of Maryland and my new friends and I just got back from Midnight Madness. We had assembled in Liz's room and were drinking and playing card games when there was a knock on the door. On the otherside of the door, were three sophomore boys trying to get in our room and hang out with the cute freshman girls. Their plan was to grab an empty pizza box and pretend that they were the delivery guys. (We could hear them whispering this plan through the door.) So one of the three knocked on the door and said that they had a pizza for Megan. Instead of saying that there was no one named Megan, I pretended that I was Megan and opened the door. The rest of the night to keep the act going, my friends called me Megan.

From that incident on, people started calling me Megan Abercrombie (cuz I always wore these red Abercrombie track pants around the dorm) and then it was shortened to just Meg. Liz (who has been my friend since 1998) likes one syllable names like Meg. (Her roommates names are Tim, Rob and Ivy and she of course is Liz.) I also had a roommate at the time named Sarah (as I do again now.) The Meg stuck and now people know me as Meg, but others know me as Sara (without the H of course.)

The End. It's stupid, but now you know.

Happy Anniversay to me.

Oh Wow. Today is my ONE year anniversary with "What are we gonna do now?"

What was I doing last year at this time last year?

1. I was sick.
2. I was drinking OJ and looking for my bagel.
3. I was daydreaming about seeing the strokes in Mexico the day before my birthday.
4. I was getting excited about watching Jeepers Creepers 2 with Liz and Sarah.

(side note: I remember watching JC2 with Liz later that night and being scared out of my mind. It takes place on a bus and Leland from Twin Peaks is in it.)

My new years resolution was to start a blogsite. A year has passed and I am still with it. Congratulations to me!!

Hard Tomorrows Photos

NM takes the best photos of the HTs. Look at those great close ups of Mike. I've never seen such good shots of a drummer.

|

no kidding,

This truely is a hard tomorrow or today. whatever it is it sucks. I listened to the killers on my way to work today and listening to that first track, jenny was a friend of mine, and walking down mt. pleasant street transported me into the twilight zone. I was definitely still drunk until i sat down on the stairs in the metro station.

I may still be drunk, I'm not really sure that I can really define the difference between drunk and hungover until the headache sets in. Once that occurs then I know that I am hungover. Regardless, this fucking blows that I am at work. I don't even know if anyone else is here, I hear someone clearing their throat and rustling papers and a LOT of white noise.

When I get home I am taking a nap and then showering or vice versa because I have to do this all over again tonite.

which reminds me to remind you:

Cute-guy trio? DC Indie Darlings? Who are they? Find out tonite.

All Yesterday's Parties:
Hard Tomorrows

Former Army of Me guitarist Robert Pierangeli is not the leader of the Hard Tomorrows, a cute-guy trio in search of a bassist (who probably doesn't have to be a cute guy, but it wouldn't hurt) playing the Black Cat backstage tonight.

I think I got engaged last nite . . .

It took me 2 hours to get ready to go out last nite. Well, I had to watch Law and Order and the Challenge while getting dressed and blow drying my hair. I think I finally met Ivy at Tonic at 10:00, maybe 10:30ish, who remembers at this point and it barely even matters.

After 2 drinks, we walked all the way down to DC9. Liberation was DEAD. Nobody was dancing, nobody was even there except for maybe 10 people who were sitting in the back booths. We drank a Sparks and talked to Bill about my birthday, which looks like is all set. (I bought part of my birthdayhotfit yesterday!)

Sarah and Warnock were over at the Cat, so Ives and I met them over there. By the time we got there, they were both wasted and being hilarious, so we went backstage and danced at BLISS. yay fun. Lizzy was there, and Katie and Tim. Sarah danced with a very jumpy boy.

A latenite mission took over around 3am, so Ivy and I somehow thought that we would have a shot of jager, and that folks was the beginning of the END. It took about 5 minutes to realize that I was very wasted. Sarah's feet were killing her from stupid heels and she sat down with these 2 boys who had a booth. I don't remember why we had to stay at the Cat until the lights came on, that is so not a good sign at the end of a nite. Ivy and I were at the almost puking part of the evening and waited for S and W to meet us outside. The 'latenitemission' led us to an afterparty, that i claimed didnt exist. One of the boys, Matt, drove us around the rest of the evening in his GTI. We got engaged on the walk to his car. His car has seat warmers and he is a really good driver. We are eloping in Vegas.

At the first afterparty (AP), Ivy and I hid out in the upstairs bathroom for 20 minutes. I passed out with my head on my arm on the toilet and Ivy passed out leaning on the tub. We finally were discovered and had to leave. Downstairs, the party host were trying to get everyone to leave, but they don't know us and we never leave. I sat on a couch with my furry hood over my head and my eyes closed leaning on Matt. I guess we finally left, but I don't really remember, but we must have because I am not there anymore.

At the second AP, I had the hiccups, Aaron had me lay upside down on an ottoman, which rid me of my hiccups, but made me insanely nauseous. Then I had to lay with my head on the ottoman in the middle of the room for the rest of the time spent at that AP. I may have to really marry that Matt guy for letting me lean on him all nite while I was wasted. Ivy and Sarah thought that I made out with him, but no too drunk.

Long story short, we ended the nite at the cave with out guests, I, W, M, and lil chicago boy, Ryan, 22, whose dad is the leader of THE union. He had to get back to a hotel near the WhiteHouse and was getting on a plane in a few hours. Sarah renamed Warnock, Rubbyface and I passed out on the couch. I think everyone left around 8. Fuck.

Fuck, I am still hungover and I have to get ready to put on my FREEZEfit and get over to the Haunted Mansion in a few hours. Ape is on her way over with McDonalds and Sparks. Later.

Please don't tell me YaYa.

Does anyone know who won America's Next Top Model last nite? I left work at 7:30 and went straight to Tonic to drink a Sparks with Sarah and Liz Ruby. When I got home I realized that I had missed it. Ruby said that they were playing it on the TV at Tonic, but it was the one behind my head. So all that time that I was sitting and staring aimlessly at the Knicks games I could have been watching ANTP. Please tell me who won, and please don't tell me YaYa.

The Hottest Night All Winter

Katie and the roommates who live in the haunted mansion are throwing a party on Saturday nite. I was just reading old blogs of mine and I came across a pretty detailed account of the last party those kids threw. If you care to remember, or want to get an idea of what's in store for this weekend check out a recap of the Dress to Get Screwed Party.

Beryl is hilarious.

My mom told me this story over IM this morning:

"want to hear something funny?

well, I must have been sleeping deeply and I was dreaming, when, this morning a car horn started going off. It was a little before 6 am. Anyway, dad was about to get up anyway and he was grumpy because of the horn beeping. He asked me if I heard it and I said yes and asked him if the flower talked to him. He asked what I meant and I said, you know, the flower had to talk to you(dad.)Then he called me up this morning and I remembered vaguely asking him about the flower. So he said yeah, but I was so out of it this morning.

I said the flowers had smiley faces and were telling us things."
